We know, we know, it’s Monday. And, if you’re like us, you probably spent your weekend enjoying all the great happenings around the Lake Area. So, now you’re sitting at your desk wondering what to do this week. Here are a few of our picks:
Starting off the week, the Lake Charles CW and Market Basket are bringing you a free movie. Attendees get to watch “Dolphin Tale 2” for free first, before it opens to the general public! If you would like to attend, pick up your tickets at Market Basket located on 2830 Ryan Street. The movie will be shown at United Artist Movie Theatre located at 3416 Derek Drive at 6 pm.
Tuesday, plan to visit the Cash & Carry Farmers Market located at the intersection of Enterprise and Broad Streets. You will find fresh produce along with homemade goods that are sure to offer a little something for everyone. You may also get to enjoy the stylings of great local musicians. Your patronage supports local farmers and business owners.The Cash & Carry Farmers Market is open from 4pm to 6pm.
On Wednesday, the Lake Charles Live Album Series continues at Luna Live. The organizers are proud to present its second album, Fleetwood Mac’s acclaimed “Rumours,” live and in concert. There will be video of classic Fleetwood Mac concerts projected onto the walls and two themed drinks created for the show by Luna Live, “The Stevie Nixer” and the “Oh Daddy,” will be offered. Doors open at 7 pm and the show begins at 9 pm. The venue is located at 710 Ryan Street.
Thursday get ready for some country with Derryll Perry, performing at the Isle of Capri Casino & Hotel’s Caribbean Cove from 8 pm – 12 am. The Isle is located at 100 Westlake Avenue, Westlake, LA. This Friday, you are invited to take part in the FOX29 News Express – McNeese Football Tailgate Party at the FOX 29 News Express studios. Come out between 10 am and 12:30 pm and sample the new gourmet pops by Pops and Rockets, eat free Fox’s Pizza Den Pizza & enjoy the company of the LakeCharles.com crew. The tailgate happens right in front of the news studio in the parking lot! Join the fun, free food, prizes and more. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs. McNeese students will have transportation from campus to the studio!
The Lake Charles Little Theatre will have their last weekend of the production, “Red, White and Tuna”. The theatre is located at 813 Enterprise Boulevard with shows scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For more information, visit http://www.thelclt.com/
