Southwest Louisiana Music Studios and the Lake Charles Young Band Nation (LCYBN) are proud to announce the 6th annual LCYBN summer music camps for the summer of 2017 in Southwest Louisiana.
Young Band Nation (YBN) is a group of collaborating organizations whose main objective is to promote appreciation of music, work ethic, communication, and community building through the education of youth in private and group music lessons.
We will be offering 1 band camp and 1 recording/engineering camp this summer:
YBN Band Camps are a blast. These camps take students on a complete musical journey in just 5 days. Campers start with rehearsals and one on one instruction, move to recording in the studio with their band, and finally to playing a live show for friends and family on Friday. Ages 11-17 welcome with minimal experience. All band camps will be at the Tipitina’s Musician’s co-op, with a performance on Friday at Luna Live.
Our engineering campers will learn the basics of mic technique, studio set up, session tracking, mixing, live sound set up, and running sound for a live show. And the cool part is, these campers will actually be in-studio and live sound engineers for our YBN Band Campers! The campers will use state of the art Presonus hardware and software both in the studio and live, AND each camper walks away from camp with their very own recording bundle from Presonus!
- Learn how to set up their new Presonus Recording Bundles.
- Learn how to set up a session within Presonus’ StudioOne software.
- Learn basic mic placement for in-studio recording and live sound.
- Learn how to apply everything they’ve learned to their own hardware and software so the adventure continues at home!
