Lake Charles native graduates LSU Physics with Honors

Lake Charles native and St. Louis Catholic High School alumnus, John Paul Marceaux, graduated magna cum laude from LSU with a B.S. in physics. While attending LSU, Marceaux conducted his research with Professor A. R. P. Rau on the theoretical aspects of quantum information. He also received the 2018 Keen-Morris Award for outstanding achievement in physics.
A member of the LSU Ogden Honors College, Marceaux was nominated as a junior for the prestigious Barry Goldwater Scholarship. In addition, Marceaux was a member of the LSU Karate team and a participant in the LSU French Alps program, where studied physics in French at the University Claude Bernard Lyon.
He will pursue a Master’s degree in theoretical physics at the University of Amsterdam with a specialization in quantum information and quantum software development.
