The magic of the holiday season is coming to Lake Charles for the annual Light Up the Lake Christmas Celebration. We are calling on local dance teams, marching bands, theater groups, community organizations, and more to take part in a brand-new holiday tradition. As part of the annual Light up the Lake Christmas Celebration, the City will host a Christmas Walking Parade on Saturday, November 29, featuring festive performances and holiday cheer along a 0.65-mile route on the Lake Charles Lakefront.
Unlike traditional float parades, this event will highlight walking groups and live performances. A special Performance Zone will give groups the chance to stop and showcase their talents for the crowd, from choreographed dances to holiday skits and musical numbers.
The Christmas Walking Parade will be one of the highlights of the Light up the Lake Festival, which draws thousands of residents and visitors downtown each year for live entertainment, fireworks over the lake, and family-friendly holiday activities.
The Christmas Walking Parade will roll at 3:00pm on Bord du Lac Drive. The parade is FREE to enter, but groups must register by Sunday, November 16, to participate. Interested groups can get more information and apply through this form (https://forms.gle/qCSneqhAg5E4j5tq8) or email [email protected]. More details about the festival will be released on Historic City Hall’s Facebook page.
