Multi platinum rock act Foreigner rocked the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles Saturday night (2-15-2020).
Guitarist, Mick Jones is the only original member still in the band., However the sold out crowd did not seem to care [or notice] that not one single original member of the band was onstage that night.
Mick Jones does not always join the rest of the band on tour.
Not to worry, the touring band is in very capable hands. The band is comprised of ex-members of other highly successful veteran rock bands. On bass, Jeff Pilson sold millions of records and had major airplay on MTV in the 80’s with his band Dokken. He later played in DIO with ex-Black Sabbath, Rainbow singer Ronnie James Dio.
Drummer Chris Frazier played on records and live with guitar wizard and ex-Frank Zappa sideman Steve Vai. He also played in Whitesnake. Guitarist Thom Gimbell was Aerosmith’s keyboard player for many tours and albums.
Finally, Vocalist Kelley Hanson was an MTV headbangers ball regular with his band Hurricane. These hard rock veterans took to the Golden Nugget stage with tons of flash and energy. They rocked thru a set of nothing but top 10 classics [no fillers here]. They were joined onstage by the St. Louis High School Show Choir to sing the hit “I wanna know what love is”.
Foreigner put on a very energetic show. I would highly recommend going to see them next time their never ending world tour stops in Lake Charles. Next time they come around get your ticket early…it was a sold out show.Â
