On September 9th, the Board of Directors of the Arts Council of SWLA appointed Heather Hidalgo-LaFleur as its 2017-2018 Board President during its annual board meeting. LaFleur has served on the Arts and Humanities board for three years and previously held the positions of Second Vice President and 1st Vice President. She is a native of Church Point, La., and graduated from McNeese State University with a B.S. in Mass Communications-Print Journalism, with over 17 years of experience in advertising, public relations and copywriting. She has worked at CHRISTUS St. Patrick Health System for 11 years and currently serves as Director of Marketing and Communications. She is married to Kevin LaFleur and has a rescue dog named Doc.
The board also approved a new slate of Executive Committee members, including Emily Porche of Burton Complex as First Vice President, Morgan Turpin of SWLA Economic Development Alliance as Second Vice President and Devan Corbello of Family & Youth Counseling Agency as Secretary.
Eleven new board members were also approved, including James Babin of ASI Office Systems, Jim Ferguson, Artist, Joshua Floyd of Safari Realty, Tiffany Fontenot of Trinity Baptist Church, Ashley Phelps-Gatte of Empire of the SEED, James Guilbeaux Jr. of Stevens & Guilbeaux Financial Consulting group of Wells Fargo Financial, Stefanie Nixon of Million Air, Amy Nyberg of CSE Federal Credit Union, Brian Pitre of The Dev Department, Garrett Stine of Stine Lumber, and Megan Thomas of Calcasieu Parish Public Library
