Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event
The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) recently honored the Southwest District Livestock Show & Rodeo as a 2020 Top 20 Event for the month of January.
The Southwest District Livestock Show and Rodeo returns to the Burton Complex Thursday – Saturday, Jan. 30-Feb. 1, with rodeo performances, livestock shows and more. The Western Heritage Parade will kick off Thursday, Jan. 30, at 5 p.m. starting at W. LaGrange Street, head south on Ryan Street, and end at McNeese Stadium. The “mane” attraction is the professional rodeo performances that kick into gear each night at 7:30 p.m., featuring bucking broncos, thundering hooves and cheering fans. Visit Lake Charles is a member of STS, an organization that promotes travel to and within the southeastern part of the United States. The Visit Lake Charles staff nominates all area fairs, festivals and events quarterly. Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States.
