About 40 blocks of lumber-boom houses next to downtown Lake Charles in Queen Anne, Eastlake, Colonial Revival and bungalow styles, many with the tapered two-story 'Lake Charles column'. It is on the National Register as the Lake Charles Historic District, and the visitor bureau publishes walking tour routes; the homes are private.
